On Sunday 8th March we are launching our 5pm Service (in place of the current 6:30pm gathering). We really hope that this will enable more people - young and old - to join us as we hear the good news of Jesus.
We hope that people will join us at 5pm for refreshments. There will be coffee, cake and a chance to meet with others from the church. Please don’t see this as an optional extra. This is part of being a community and a great chance to meet and greet new people.
At 5:15pm, we will be encouraged to go into the main hall for the formal part of our gathering. We will sing, pray and hear a talk from the Bible. Like the mornings, there will be an ALL AGE service once a month, when all school age children will stay in with us. There will also be a COMMUNION service once a month, when together, we will remember the death and resurrection of Jesus using bread and wine. Part way through our gathering, there will be a creche for our 0- nursery age children. There will also be an optional Bible group for Reception to year 2 children. But all children are welcome to stay in the main gathering and there will be an activity sheet to help them follow along with the bible talk. The service will finish at 6:30pm. There will be no refreshments following the service.
Who is it for?
The simple answer is anyone! We hope the time change will make it accessible to young and old alike. We aim to make the gathering suitable for those who are new to Jesus and new to church. We also hope it will be a place where all of us can grow to know Jesus better however long we’ve been attending church.
Come: If you don’t normally get out to church on a Sunday evening, why not start coming? Bring the family! Get behind this new venture as a church and become part of growing our church family.
Serve: Get involved in helping to run The 5pm. There are lots of jobs to do and teams to join such as the welcome team, the music team, the audio/visual team, the refreshments teams, kids work teams, outreach teams and more. We would love you to get involved. Why not consider making The 5pm a real time to serve so that others get to know Jesus better.
